An artist uses a bathymetric chart to laser cut pieces of high-quality birch into the exact shape of the underwater landscape of Maui, expertly piecing them together to create the visual depth and dimension the wood chart is known for. The water is hand-stained, and points of interest are etched into the surface of the 3D wood map. The map is complete with a custom-sized solid wood frame and protective acrylic layer.
